Find peace of mind at this tranquil hotel in Kyoto

Hoshinoya Kyoto is an exquisite traditional ryokan-hotel located in the Arashiyama district of Kyoto. The area is known for its many Zen temples and bamboo groves. Built along the River Ooigawa, the hotel is inspired by typical local architecture and offers an authentic Japanese culture and a luxurious modern comfort. Accessed by a lazy boat ride in a hinoki (Japanese cedar) vessel, the resort’s entrance has a dramatic, romantic feel.

Hoshinoya Kyoto has 25 stylish guest rooms that give a crystal clear view of Kyoto City. The room’s interior is a great mix between Japanese tradition and modernity. The rooms are designed with comfortable Tatami furnishings, iron lanterns, cedar bathtubs, and delicate rice-paper screens. And although the guestrooms don’t have TVs, all have Wi-Fi and heated floors.

There is a library features a range of books about the culture and traditions of the area. Also there is a restaurant that offers an excellent Japanese or French cuisine. But the water Zen garden probably is the major attraction of the hotel. You can sit there and forget what century you’re in.
